About

Hey ! I'm Victor Loux, a 17 years-old student at the Gutenberg trade school at Illkirch, in France. I'm preparing a "Bac Pro AMA CG" (roughly equivalent, to a BTEC National Diploma in Graphic Design), and I'd like later to study in United Kingdom to improve my English and design skills. I chose this way because I'm passionated about graphic design, and especially photography, typography and webdesign.

I also like conception and programmation of websites, concentring on accessibility and semantics in XHTML code, and I also practice some PHP and Javascript langages.

And in real life, I love rock, the british culture, I'm an addict to Facebook and chocolate, and so many other things!

About

This site is the 14th incarnation of my presence on the Internet, between my personal sites, blogs and other portfolios. It's been now 5 years that I experiment and discover website creation and graphism. I learn more and more everyday, and this new version is the incarnation of my most recent experimentations.

It's the version that was the longer to build ; it's a project that I started in august 2008. This long time is for multiple reasons ;

  • first, I spent many times to experiment various possibilities, extremely different of what you're seeing today, that I left off because they didn't please me anymore, or for technical reasons.
  • Secondly, this project uses intensively Javascript and Web accessibility, two techniques that I'm learning right now, and for which I needed time to master.
  • The last reason, the most slowing-down, is that I did have much less free time than previously.

Conception

This site uses as much as possible a semantic and accessible code. It works perfectly fine for users that have disabled Javascript ; users that kept it enabled can enjoy a more fluid and interactive navigation. Accesskeys are available for users that don't have a mouse ; to know them, look at the menu's title attributes.

Finally, please note that this site is not compatible at all with Internet Explorer 6. I support the IE6 end-of-use campaign, because this browser is obsolete and don't support new technologies.
